This is a lovely old French desk
I believe it was a teachers desk in a classroom due to the ink stains in the drawer and in some places on the top.
It’s of lovely sturdy construction with lots of nice details like dovetail joints, turned legs and wooden nails holding the top to the frame.
It has its quirks as the top is slightly off centre and so there is a little gap at the back on one side where the top doesn’t quite cover the base.
Gorgeous dark honey colour. The table top is stained in places but it has been thoroughly cleaned and oiled all over.
It would make a lovely desk or side table, or a small compact dinning table in a kitchen.
The wooden knob for the drawer is broken sadly. I chose to keep the original rather than replace it as it ads to the story of the piece.
