A gorgeous and very old, early 1900s Art Populaire Milk Jug
This came from a farm in Burgundy and the gentleman who sold it to me, a retired farmer told me his granny used to use the.
It’s large and heavy, 30cm tall and about 14cm wide at the widest (not including the handle)
It would make a stunning vase or display piece on shelves.
The inside is not glazed and so it would be difficult to clean it to a standard suitable for use for milk or water.
Nontheless a gorgeous primitive jug in excellent condition for its age
There is a drop on one side where it looks like some of the glazing pooled together before firing.
