A lovely small 1940s cupboard.
Called a "confiturier" in French these would be used to store preserves.
Lots of wear and patina to this little cupboard with a brass button door handle with a magnet closure.
There are some nice details on this piece with the reddish stain to the wood.
The two shelves in the inside are made of rough sewn planks of wood, they could be lined in paper if desired.
One of the feet has been replaced at some stage with a different shaped foot. It’s on the back and I have left it as is as I think it shows a nice quirk of the cupboards story.
