Vendanges crates from a Domaine in Burgundy
Used for the grape harvest to carry the crapes to the winery.
Some have marking on the ends or sides. These might include the name of the vineyard or the initials of the winemaker. Some have green paint on the end to identify them as crates to carry the green grapes.
These crates have been used over many years, handmade in a utilitarian way. Built to do a job with strong metal brackets. There have been repairs made over the years.
The crates have been fully cleaned, woodworm treated and lightly sanded. Inside wood left raw, outside has been waxed to give a light sheen.
They make great planters, storage boxes or retail display pieces.
