A very practical and beautiful item from the 1900s, possibly from a french hotel
Turned from Wood made to look like bamboo, the hanger folds down when in use and can be folded back up when it isn’t. It’s a clever cantilever system.
Ideal for hanging a jacket or coat as it hangs from the shoulder. It would look gorgeous in a bathroom for a robe, hallway for a coat or in a bedroom.
There is a signature on the back of the hanger but it isn’t legible. The item is very much in the style of Thonet and could be Thonet.
There are signs of wear and age as are to be expected on an item this age.
The hanger needs to be hung slightly at an angle for the hanger to stay folded back when not in use.
